How will I learn it?

The learning methodology that I use is to provide you with the information and tools to enable you to learn yourself.

The best way to learn the requirements for aerodrome certification and operating to the desired level is to:

  1. look them up as you need to, then they are relevant to what you are doing and more likely to make sense and to be remembered, and
  2. use them in exercises to practice applying different requirements and seeing how the differences can affect the operational limitations of your aerodrome.
  3. make your own notes and cheat sheets. Although I will provide some cheat sheets and reference material during this training, you are welcome, indeed encouraged, to modify what I give you or make your own for your own purposes and size of your aerodrome.
  4. study background material and context.
  5. ask questions, look out for the COMMENT tab at the bottom of each lecture - you can use this to make a comment for other students or to ask me a question, or even to just make a general comment or suggestion
  6. visit other airports with a critical eye. When you fly, always pick a window seat and check out the departure and arrival aerodromes.
  7. carry out audits of your own or other aerodromes, and analyse the results.

This course has a variety of material delivered in different ways, and lots of quizzes to get you thinking and to help reinforce your learning in each section.

You will be learning from:

  • Videos
  • Text
  • Presentations, both PowerPoint and PDF
  • Downloads, such as checklist and supporting documents, PDF and Word
  • Access to ICAO documents in the ICAO eLibrary
  • and, most importantly, by
  • DOING IT YOURSELF

Have a great time, learn lots, but enjoy the experience 👍👏😁

Transcript to Course and Coaching Intro video

There are two methods by which we keep in touch and seek support.

The first is that at the end of each lesson, there is an opportunity for you to complete in text with a picture attached if you want, you can write text to leave a comment.

Now these comments are designed not just for feedback, but for you to ask questions and get reinforcement or clarification on any subject in the lesson that you've just done and I will come back to you with an explanation.

The other aspect in which you get further support, personally, is in live coaching. So, when you sign up for the programme, to the full programme of aerodrome compliance, you'll get the course you get the that course's online self-study training, including the comment tech support, which I've just shown, and we agree how many people will be doing the training programme and how often and how many coaching sessions you need.
