I have been involved in aerodrome operations, since 1982.
A resourceful and dedicated professional with decades of operational and project management, safety, regulatory, and planning experience within civil aviation, and specifically aerodromes. Attentive to detail with an analytical, pragmatic and strategic approach to solving complex challenges within varied cultural and administrative environments. Widely experienced in and with regulatory bodies and possesses detailed and varied knowledge of aviation in the disciplines of ICAO state audits, emergency planning, consultancy, master planning, training and regulation, as well as previously in air traffic control, flying, airport operations: an ICAO expert in aerodromes. Airport experience: ICAO, UK CAA, and EASA ranges from beach landing Barra to some of the world’s busiest: Singapore and Manila, and includes certification, emergency plans, operations, design, safety management, certification and State regulations.
I started my working life as a Royal Air Force Officer, gaining my degree in Psychology during that time, then spending most of my career in airside operations, aerodrome certification regulation and safety, gaining my Masters degree in Airport Management and Planning soon after leaving the RAF. I am an ICAO certified Safety Management Practitioner (SMxP) and ICAO certified trainer.
