What will I learn

You will learn, for runways that do not experience snow and ice:

  1. Key terminology, some of it is new or changed in meaning for the introduction of GRF on 4th November 2021, this is contained in a downloadable and searchable PDF Glossary that has been compile specifically for this course;
  2. What is GRF: where did it come from and why?
  3. How to use the runway condition assessment matrix (RCAM);
  4. How to determine a runway condition report (RCR);
  5. What is a SNOWTAM? We don't get snow at our airport, why and when do I need to complete a SNOWTAM?
  6. How to complete a SNOWTAM request form for promulgation;
  7. Learn when runways must be re-assessed;
  8. Learn the when and how of promulgating the runway condition report (RCR) and associated information;
  9. Learn what the pilots will do with your information.

There are quizzes at various points during the course. These are all part of the learning. You have a maximum of 5 attempts to succeed in each quiz, and you must pass each quiz to proceed to the next lecture or section.

You must pass the final assessment quiz to receive the course certificate.
